Day 16 - Rest Day in Silver City, NM
Most small towns these days appear to be suffering. Silver City seems to be thriving. What other town with a population of fewer than 10,000 has 3 bicycle shops and 4 book stores?! It is also chocked full of independent coffee shops, art galleries, murals, cafes and spas.
There is a palpable bohemian vibe and laid back feeling. Everyone seems to be happy even though most are wearing masks due to a Covid spike.
I had a very relaxing day off that rejuvenated my body and mind.
I want to visit Silver Springs!
ReplyDeleteI will be in that area in a few weeks for business and may have include Silver Springs. What is the route thru Texas?
ReplyDeleteCorrection- Silver City.
ReplyDeleteGordy, If you visit Silver City I recommend staying at the Murray Hotel. I enter Texas just north of El Paso, go right through El Paso, and then head south along the Rio Grande. From there I cut a very long path straight across to the hill country and on to Austin.
