Day 20 - Las Cruces, NM to Anthony, TX (Family Time)

Stayed with dear relatives Paul and Judy last night in Las Cruces and spent much of the day today with them. Wonderful time with great people!

Paul was intrigued by my journey and asked a lot of questions that I answered enthusiastically, putting a positive spin on all of my answers. After listening to our conversation intently for about five minutes Judy interjected to ask, “What do you do for fun?”

For fun I meet new people in different walks of life whom i would never otherwise have the opportunity to meet. But I do miss family and friends, so this visit was a great break from my normal routine.

Saying goodbye was made easier by the glorious ride that followed. I rode southward for about 30 miles flanked on both sides by pecan groves that often formed a canopy over the road. At the end of the day I crossed over into Texas and brought with me terrific new memories of the enchanting State of New Mexico.
