Day 8 - Wickenburg to Phoenix
Rode into Phoenix today from the north on the Carefree Highway, made famous by Gordon Lightfoot and pictured below. It is easy to see how that enchanting road (Arizona 74) inspired such a beautiful song.
When I originally conceptualized this trip I expected to be spending a day at the renowned Phoenix musical instruments museum and maybe climbing Camelback Mountain. Now I’m thinking I need to spend the day making some minor adjustments on my bike and pressing forward a bit.
The featured cactus today is the Jumping Cholla. It can be seen in the foreground of the photo below surrounded by several stately Saguaro.
